If you are fortunate enough to go to Israel, you want to do it right. However, because Israel is a tourist hot spot, there are a multitude of places to stay and things to see. Of course, any where you go in Israel will be fabulous, but if you really want to ensure you get what you are looking for, you want to connect with someone who can help you plan your trip.
Hiring a mission or tour coordinator can be expensive. Now, through THE ASSOCIATED’s new Global Impact website, www.associated.org/globalimpact, you can find recommendations for hotels, activities, guides and more –all from Maia Hoffman, ASSOCIATED Director of Missions and Israel Projects.
For example, Maia recommends De Karina Chocolate:
“When you taste this chocolate, you won’t care how fattening it is! It is made in the cutest chocolate factory in Ein Zivan Kibbutz in the Northern Golan Heights. The establishment, owned by Argentine immigrants who are third-generation chocolatiers, includes a boutique and café. You can just browse or lounge in the café, or you can do a tour and a tasting. They also do chocolate-making workshops (need to reserve in advance). All their chocolates are handmade and it is kosher lemehadrin. Their website doesn’t seem to be completed yet, but some concepts don’t need words!”
(To make a reservation, contact Ruth Sade, Visitor Center Manager, at +972 4 699 3622, +972 54 252 7040 or firstname.lastname@example.org.)
Nancy Boguslaw of the Maryland/Israel Development Center recently booked her driver through the Tool Box. She told THE ASSOCIATED she got the best deal and the highest quality of service … and she hasn’t even arrived in Israel yet!
It’s worth looking at the new site and seeing what Maia has listed, even if you don’t have a trip planned this year. Maybe reading through the Tourism Tool Box will prompt you to set a trip. If you do that, be sure to let us know, share your pictures with us and visit our brothers and sisters in Ashkelon!
